CreatorDB: An Influencer Discovery Platform

CreatorDB, a new, data-driven platform, is changing the way businesses connect with and benefit from social media influencers.

In today’s digital age, over 75% of people rely on social media for purchasing insights. TikTok, Reddit, and Instagram have become our society’s go-to platforms for trend and product advice, with influencers being the voice of the market. It seems as if every post is a new influencer collaboration promoting another new line of makeup or technology gadgets. Influencers have become the center of advertising campaigns for nearly every consumer-facing market, and now many entrepreneurs are recognizing this market shift.

Cofounders Noah Hynam (President), Clayton Jacobs (CEO), and Andy Chou (VP of Engineering) acknowledged this shift in 2019 when they created CreatorDB, the newest online marketplace for companies to shop for social media influencers. This data-driven platform enables companies of all sizes to find the ideal influencer for their specific needs. Following the acquisition of a $4.7 million Series A funding round in September 2025, CreatorDB has begun to expand and refine its three key pillars of operations.

Pillar 1: Catalog Services

CreatorDB serves as a catalog for over 130 influencer data points, highlighting four key insights: platform score, time series, profile quality, and cost performance. The platform score ranks an influencer’s engagement metrics (average views, subscriber growth, etc.) against similar creators on the platform. This score provides a comprehensive understanding of an influencer’s success. The time series helps companies understand an influencer’s trends based on statistical data. This data provides insights into when their content gains the most engagement, the amount of content posted, and which content formats excel. The profile quality enables the comparison of all this data across countries, platforms, and even languages. And, finally, the cost performance gives companies an immediate estimate of the overall cost of collaborating with the influencer.

Pillar 2: International Marketplace

CreatorDB acts as an international marketplace. As many companies expand their businesses globally, this aspect becomes vital for reaching diverse audiences. Now, companies can thoroughly research international influencers, their metrics, and whether their costs rationalize the profit. Furthermore, CreatorDB has made internationality part of its identity. In their 50-person team, over 14 nationalities and 15 languages are represented. This aspect emphasizes their commitment to understanding international markets, thereby elevating the user experience.

Pillar 3: A Flexible Platform

CreatorDB is structurally an Application Programming Interface. Simply put, this means that users can transform CreatorDB’s platform to meet their needs. While some companies may want CreatorDB to be fully integrated into their own systems and workflows, others may only want a separate platform. Whatever the needs, CreatorDB has the functionality to adapt while still providing crucial data points and analytics whenever the user needs them.

But CreatorDB isn’t stopping there. Currently, their mission is to build out their AI integration. “Jacobs said the company uses natural language processing and inference modeling to help its clients better understand the data behind influencer marketing,” according to Business Insider’s journalist Sydney Bradley. By utilizing AI to analyze demographic, content, and pricing data, CreatorDB aims to make advertising campaigns more accessible to businesses of all sizes and budgets.

The Proven Success of CreatorDB

Surfshark is a cybersecurity company founded in 2018 that offers clients a range of services, including VPN, antivirus software, and alert systems. In 2021, Surfshark recognized the opportunity to expand its product into the Taiwanese market and chose to partner with CreatorDB to analyze and promote to this new client base. At the beginning of the partnership, CreatorDB identified three key challenges: localization (adapting communication to fit Asian media), education (informing Asian markets about the benefits of Surfshark products), and market share (establishing Surfshark as a trusted VPN). To move forward with this campaign, CreatorDB established clear guidelines through a creative brief and chose to focus its efforts on a single social media platform, YouTube. Within a year, CreatorDB helped Surfshark achieve over 500 million views from influencer video integrations, create a significant presence on YouTube ads, and become the most searched VPN in Taiwan. Through this case study, we can see how CreatorDB’s data-driven platform can predict the success of a marketing campaign globally.

CreatorDB is at the forefront of advertising technology, integrating AI and marketing trends into its platform. They are changing the way businesses and influencers interact and create content for the better. Now, instead of waiting and hoping that an influencer will succeed in promoting their brand, they can take action to ensure the profit for both sides of the deal. In the advertising industry, professionals, academics, and influencers should all keep an eye out for the expansion of CreatorDB.
